Reference

At the end of 1991, the engineering academies of the CIS countries were founded on the basis of the Engineering Academy of the USSR, which became the founders of the International Engineering Academy (IEA), which was registered by the Ministry of Justice as an International Public Organization on February 10, 1992.
Boris Gusev was elected the first president of the International Engineering Academy.
Its honorary presidents, academicians of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (later the Russian Academy of Sciences) I. A. Glebov, A. Y. Ishlinsky (Russia) and B. E. Paton (Ukraine) provided great assistance in organizing the IEA.
The International Academy of Engineering consists of national engineering academies, branches and representative offices.
Currently, the IEA has almost 1,300 members from 40 countries, including heads of government and presidents of foreign states, prominent scientists, public figures and heads of major scientific and industrial structures.
The basic concept of the academy at all stages of its development is based on the promotion of the engineering capacity of the countries where the Academy members work, with the aim of improving the spiritual, economic, environmental and social life of the person. The activities of the IEA are determined by the characteristics and needs of the spiritual, economic, scientific and technical development of each of the states that are part of it.
More than 30 scientific and informational periodicals are published with the participation of IEA.
Currently, IEA, together with national academies, branches and representative offices, conducts a number of major interstate programs that unite the efforts of engineers from different countries to solve the most important tasks in the economy, industry, construction, energy, ecology, security, engineering education and other areas of engineering activity.
