On May 23, 2023 the Russia-China Business Forum took place in Shanghai within the framework of the official visit of Mikhail Mishustin to the People’s Republic of China. The business program of the Forum included a plenary session with the participation of heads of Russian and Chinese delegations as well as five round tables on topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of transport, industry and agriculture. 

During his speech at the plenary session Mikhail Mishustin noted that the business forum would help to find new reliable partners, contribute to productive work and strengthening of business ties between Russian and Chinese entrepreneurs, implementation of promising projects in various spheres. Representing the Chinese side, Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of China, said in a congratulatory letter to the forum participants that China is ready to expand trade and economic ties with Russia.   

Evgeny Bazhov, Head of the FBA EAC Representative Office in PRC, took part in the events and held talks with Shenzhen Guanhong Technology CO on localizing the production of high-tech equipment in Russia. The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation expressed support for the project and suggested that the possibility of public-private financing of the project be considered. Evgeny Bazhov also discussed the potential of Chinese investments in the Biomedical Cluster in the Jewish Autonomous Region with Alexander Petrov, State Duma Deputy. 

The main result of the Business Forum was the development of business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries, which will create a solid foundation for Russian-Chinese friendship.
