Annual meeting of the Lisbon-Vladivostok Initiative
On January 18, 2022, the annual meeting of the participants of the Lisbon-Vladivostok Initiative took place. The meeting was held in a mixed format.
Ulf Schneider, President of the SCHNEIDER GROUP and a member of the Supervisory Board of the FBA EAC moderated the event.
In his opening remarks, he noted that the vision of a single economic space from Lisbon to Vladivostok can be reality, and the multilevel partnership between the European Union (EU) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is considered as the main aspect of such a common economic space. The initiative was founded in 2015 and is implemented by enterprises, business associations and analytical centers from different EU and EAEU member states.
More than 100 people took part in the event. Within the framework of the initiative, six working groups were represented and had the opportunity to talk about their activities in 2021, and announced the goals of their work in 2022. Mr. Schneider noted that despite the difficulties associated with the pandemic and political differences, the Initiative is increasingly uniting the space of Europe and Eurasia.
The election of a new Board and the solemn signing of memoranda with new participants of the Initiative also marked the meeting.
General Director Oleg Berezovoy took part in the event on behalf of the FBA EAC.
