FBA EAC develops a project on deep processing of milk for infant food and school meals
Expanding cooperation in the EAEU countries, the FBA EAC Committee on Best Available Techniques and Investment Projects, under the chairmanship of Yuri Fedorov, is successfully working on the implementation of a project on deep processing of milk for infant food and school meals.
Dairy farming is currently undergoing a period of intensive development. This is due both to the growing demand for quality products and to the availability of regional support programmes for the dairy sector.
Under conditions of Under the pressure of sanctions, the demand for domestically produced food processing equipment has increased. Equipment manufacturers from Kovrov, Kaluga and Izhevsk are now fulfilling orders for their production for various regions of Russia. Kaluga, Tver and Vladimir are regions with well-developed dairy farming.
In July, for the second year in a row, an exhibition of pedigree livestock breeding was held on the premises of the Vladimir Agrarian College. Traditionally, the best farms in the region took part in the event. The government of the Vladimir region has developed programmes to support farms. These measures have produced results and are creating potential for further development. The regional government is working to create a network of milk processing plants, which will improve the economic efficiency of the industry.
In conversation with FBA EAC Committee member Vitaly Vasiliev, interim Minister of Agriculture of the Vladimir region Sergey Lukyanov expressed his willingness to hold an extended round table with local farmers interested in developing their production in order to determine the forms and methods of future cooperation.
The Vladimir region has a pedigree herd of Holstein cattle, which is characterised by high milk yield and milk fat content. The climatic characteristics of the region make it possible to obtain high quality milk for the production of elite cheeses. These competitive advantages are good reasons to locate production in this region.
In co-operation with the Research Institute "Child nutrition" and Belarusian colleagues, information is being collected on necessary equipment, suppply of raw materials, personnel, client base, etc. Valentin Karamzin, member of the FBA EAC Committee, Doctor of Science, General Director of Agromash, takes an active part in this work.
