Head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation – Sergey Lavrov said that Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is going to expand under the chairmanship of Russia.

SCO has become authoritative union and carrying weight factor for new polycentric world order system formation. Organization activities are related with visible results in security assurance, strengthening of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation of countries-members. As a result the SCO role raises in world and regional activities what leads to great interest to the organization from many Countries and international organizations. Pakistan, India and Iran said that they want to become SCO full members and more and more countries would like to get the status as observers or dialogue partners.

SCO fully corresponds to realities and demands of XXI century in contradistinction to out of date, past age epoch structures founded by strict block discipline.

Russian Federation during its SCO Chairmanship, which starts after the Dushanbe summit, plans to pay high attention to improvement of Organization effectiveness in current difficult international situation, consolidate efforts in the interests of adequate reaction to events in region and world. It also plans to develop cooperation with United Nation and establish communication with Eurasian Economic Union.

Realizing that modern challenges have complex and interconnected character Russian SCO chairmanship is going to advocate for realization of coordinated approach in economic, financial, energetic and food supplies safety spheres. It is planned to widely implement mutual settlements in national currency. There are good possibilities to launch large international projects in transport, energy, science and technology spheres including innovations in agriculture and peaceful use of outer space.

Practical relations are advancing because of created SCO Business Council, Interbank Association and Energy Club.

At the SCO summit is planned to make decisions which are going to finally form legal, administrative and financial conditions to accept new members in the SCO. It will help to start the process of expanding the Organization during the Russian Federation SCO chairmanship.
