May 24 meeting of the Sub-Commission on Payment and Settlement Systems and Technologies of the RSPP Commission on Banks and Banking
On May 24, 2022, an expanded meeting of the Subcommittee on Payment and Settlement Systems and Technologies of the RSPP Commission on Banks and Banking Activities was held on the topic "Ensuring the effectiveness of settlements with the participation of Russian companies".
The meeting was in a combined format.
Alexander Murychev, Co-Chairman of the Commission, Vice-President of the RSPP, Chairman of the Board of the FBA EAC, moderated the meeting.
During the meeting of the Sub-Commission, the participants discussed the results of the next survey of the RSPP, which ended on May 13 of this year. It was about "settlements involving Russian companies."
The survey investigated the following topics:
- key barriers to settlement faced by companies and areas of their occurrence;
- measures taken by companies to improve the efficiency of settlements;
- measures to be taken to reduce barriers in the implementation of domestic and cross-border settlements;
- tools and mechanisms that companies prefer to use for mutual settlements;
- preferences in currencies and geography of foreign economic activity.
The participants also discussed proposals to ensure the implementation of international (cross-border) settlements with the participation of Russian companies and the implementation of mutual settlements within the framework of foreign economic activity in other forms.
Representatives of the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance of Russia, financial and non-financial organizations were invited to participate.
