On September 27, 2022, Member of the FBA EAC Board Anatoly Tkachuk met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation, Mr. Zhang Hanhui, at the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation.
Anatoly Tkachuk noted that cooperation with the People's Republic of China is an important direction in the implementation of projects of various scales in the Eurasian space and beyond. At the same time, building bilateral and multilateral relations with the business community of the China today allows us to form projects that are strategically important for entire regions.
During the meeting, Anatoly Tkachuk discussed the prospects for the trade development between the Russian Federation and China, building new logistics chains and reorienting cargo flows according current economic realities. An important aspect was the discussion of improving cargo handling mechanisms, the development of cargo and transport hubs in the border area for the accumulation and distribution of trade flows. The need for the construction and development of port infrastructure was emphasized, which would significantly increase the volume of transported goods. Another raised issue was energy supplies from Russia to China, including petroleum products and coal. At the same time, both sides highlighted the importance of developing financial mechanisms between China and Russia that would ensure the reliability and security of business processes in the current conditions. The interest in the implementation of creative projects for the development of cultural relations between the countries was also indicated.
The parties exchanged information on ongoing projects and opportunities for promising cooperation within the framework of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the fields of the Eurasian space at a high level.
