News from the Eurasian Economic Commission
On September 20, 2022, the third meeting of the Working Group on the main directions of Integration Development under the Advisory Council on Interaction of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Business Council of the Eurasian Economic Union was held. The meeting was held in mixed format. The subject of discussion was the implementation of strategic directions for the development of the Eurasian economic integration until 2025 and the preparation of the main directions of the economic development of the EAEU until 2035.
During the meeting, the Board member and Minister Sergey Glazyev noted that, despite the current geopolitical situation, the Eurasian Economic Union continues to develop in the international arena. The Minister stressed that the adoption of the strategy was timely and the pace of its implementation is consistent. Also, according to him, the current realities confirm the need to implement the measures included in the Strategy especially concerning the policy of import substitution, the transition to settlements in national currencies, infrastructure development, industrial cooperation, the creation of value chains within the EAEU and ensuring food security.
Executive Secretary of the EAEU Business Council, Managing Director of the Department for International Multilateral Cooperation and Integration of the RSPP Sergey Mikhnevich, Vice President - Member of the Council of the Association of Russian Banks, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Financial and Banking Union Oleg Preksin also spoke on the agenda. FBA EAC was represented at the meeting of the Working Group by the Director General of FBA EAC, a member of the Board of the RSPP Oleg Berezovoy.
