Of the FBA EAC Committee on Ecology and Nature Management was held in video conference format
On May 26, 2021 at 11.00 am a round table of the FBA EAC Committee on Ecology and Nature Management was held in video conference format.
The participants of the round table discussed the issue of an integrated approach to the environmental problems at enterprises, as well as issues of governmental control of compliance of enterprises with the environmental standards.
The President of the FBA EAC Anatoly Tkachuk addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and noted the importance of the ecological topic for business.
The moderator of the round table was Gennady Zubov, Chairman of the Committee on Ecology and Nature Management. He spoke about the challenges facing business in the field of environmental safety, the implementation of optimal technical solutions and increasing the investment attractiveness of environmental projects.
The main speaker at the round table was Andrey Gorbatykh, Development Director of the ECOS Group. He spoke about the integrated approach to water treatment in industrial enterprises, the reuse of treated water and the possibility of obtaining by-products. Also Andrey Gorbatykh drew attention of the round table participants to the need of formulation of a more exact technical task when ordering an environmental project by an enterprise in order to avoid fines and reputational costs in the event of incorrect operation of the treatment facilities.
Elena Wilson, Deputy General Director for Scientific Work of EKOSTECH, spoke about the importance of scientific and applied research as well as pilot tests for the implementation of projects in the field of ecology and noted the need for an integrated approach to the preliminary preparation of project documentation.
In his speech Pavel Mikhailov, Director of the Environmental Management Directorate of the State Unitary Enterprise “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg”, focused on the work of the environmental supervisory authorities, which regularly monitor the compliance of enterprises with waste disposal standards. He also noted that it is extremely important that the treatment facilities meet the requirements and are properly operated.
Summing up the results of the round table, Gennady Zubov thanked those who were present for their high interest in the topic of ecology and noted that the roundtable was held in a productive and constructive manner.
