On June 15, 2023, the Forum "Supply Chains of Industrial Enterprises of the SCO Countries"
On June 15, 2023, the Forum "Supply Chains of Industrial Enterprises of the SCO Countries" and the SCO 2023 International Investment and Trade Fair opened in Qingdao on the site of the SCO Pearl International Exhibition Center.
The forum under the motto "Synergy and Win-win chains for future regional Economic Cooperation", organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Shandong Province, was designed to create a new platform for practical cooperation between the SCO countries and contribute to the creation of a safe and stable, uninterrupted and efficient, open and inclusive, mutually beneficial system of industrial supply chains.
The Forum consisted of the main forum, the SCO 2023 International Investment and Trade Fair, six parallel forums, four field meetings and many other supporting events.
On the sidelines of the forum, Evgeny Bazhov, the head of the Representative of the FBA EAС, introduced the Association and spoke about the possibilities of cooperation and the interface of the common development goals of the FBA EAC and the SCO.
The opening ceremony of the Forum was attended by Lin Ji, Deputy Minister of Commerce, Song Junji, Vice Governor of Shandong Province and Secretary General of the Provincial Government, Nurlan Yermekbayev, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Zhao Haozhi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and the Mayor of Qingdao.
In his speech, Chinese Deputy Minister of Commerce Lin Ji assessed the role of the SCO Industrial Supply Chain Forum and the SCO International Investment and Trade Fair 2023 as the first step towards the implementation of President Xi Jinping's important initiative announced at the SCO summit in Samarkand. China is ready to cooperate with all parties to promote the alignment of economic development strategies, increase the sustainability of regional supply chains and promote economic globalization towards a more open, inclusive, inclusive and balanced direction.
The SCO 2023 International Investment and Trade Fair, organized by the Qingdao Municipal Government and the Shandong Province Trade Promotion Association, was held for 4 days. The total exhibition area of the fair was 44,000 square meters. It was attended by 330 exhibitors from 34 countries and regions of the SCO, which made it the largest event in history. The fair has a new exhibition area for special goods from the UAE, Myanmar and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and the category of imported special goods has been increased from a permanent 5,000 to more than 10,000.
On June 16, B2B meetings were held within the framework of the Forum. Evgeny Bazhov held talks with a Chinese company that presented the "Comprehensive online service platform for Economic and Trade Cooperation B2B SCO Version 2.0." aimed at promoting exports, settlements in local currency, barter trade and mutual recognition of customs and tax control. The program also provides for an innovative system of cross-border payments and settlements in SCO currencies, a new system of cross-border barter trade, a system of aviation statistics, information management for the export of used cars and an information and reference service system. For the first time of its kind, it implements cross-border movement of goods and internal cash settlements, which will effectively solve the problem of weak payment channels between the SCO countries and effectively reduce complex logistics costs and risks.
