On February 1, 2019 FBA EAC headquarters hosted the meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to Russia Pierre Clive Agius.

General Director of FBA EAC Oleg Berezovoy spoke about the focus areas of Association and draw the Ambassador’s attention to the fact that today FBA EAC unites members and partners from 25 countries, and he will be glad to see business and banking structures from Malta among them. For a start of cooperation Mr. Berezovoy gave several examples of successfully implemented projects with European partners and offered to begin with an article about Maltese business in the nest issue of the Eurasian financial & economic Herald pending in March, just before the Russian Business Week.

In return Mr. Agius informed about the economic situation in the Republic of Malta where besides tourism, rapidly developing industry and agriculture there is also a strong financial system. Due to more favorable legislation and financial terms the Republic competes today with Luxemburg in the sphere, offering its services to such giants as Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Peugeot and other global corporations. E-finance is also quite successful in the country. Insurance and banking sectors are developing fast as well. Together with Maltese banking and insurance infrastructure there are all large European banks in the country. Mr. Ambassador offered to begin cooperation with Malta Business and Professional Association – MBPA.

The parties expressed hope for fruit cooperation. Mr. Berezovoy invited Mr. Ambassador to the Annual General of FBA EAC on March 6, 2019 in the headquarters of Association in Moscow.
